Compass Box Hedonism

My first exposure to this unbelievably delightful scotch was in 2005 when I became a liquor salesman in south Florida. The wine sales guys on the other side of the house were always asking me to get them some 50ml samples of "the Compass Box Hedonism scotch!", as if their lives depended on it.
In securing a few bottles and subsequently tasting one I quickly realized what their intense affinity for this elixir was!
Since then I've been a devotee of this incredible blended whisky. I just bought two (2) bottles!

Compass Box Hedonism, light, silky on the front, warming the back of the throat. Breathe it out, taste the vanilla, plums and the lovely hint of the ocean.
mmmmm yes.

What can I say that hasn't been said in countless other professional and consumer reviews? This stuff is absolutely marvelous, especially at its price point. It puts the lie to the stuffy old line that blends (especially blends that include -- gasp -- grain whisky) are no good. If your Scotch tastes run toward seaweed, peat smoke, iodine and high proof, this isn't for you. But I can't say anything about Hedonism that hasn't already been said by others. It is a delicious, well crafted product that is indeed "hedonistic" and delicious without veering into the territory of sickly sweetness, imbalance to conceal flaws, and the like. It's just about perfect.

I want to add that I've found dealing with the folks at Third Base to be a real pleasure. They made ordering and shipping easy, and were a pleasure to work with. I'll be a repeat customer for sure.
