I avoided Larceny forever primarily due to my dislike of Maker's Mark; I admittedly lumped all wheated bourbons into the 'nasty like Maker's' category. Then I read a Larceny review explaining the differences between it and MM, and an opinion of how much better it was all around.... the nose, the palate, the flavor profile, the finish, the smoothness, the mouthfeel..... Well, I just had to give it a try, and Wow, was I pleasantly surprised. I really like this bourbon. To me, the flavor profile is heavy on caramel and vanilla. The mouthfeel is relatively thick, chewey and buttery smooth, and the finish is a nice sweet, lingering burn. Definitely sweeter and more mellow than high rye bourbons. This is a staple for me now.
