Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey
I am usually a Scotch whisky drinker and found this to be more to my liking than most of the Bourbons I have had. It has some of spiciness / pepper flavor of Bourbons that I believe comes from the new oak. My first time trying it I thought it was too much like a Bourbon for my liking. I had it over ice, which is how I have most of my Bourbons. Next time I drank it like a Scotch whisky...neat, and then added a small amount of filtered water....okay, this is good. Not just another Bourbon. It competes with other Scotch whiskys in the same price range. Not as sweet as a Bourbon. Still only 1/4 of the way into the bottle but I am liking this so far. It will depend on mood of the day if I grab this or a different bottle, but a very solid choice. And looking at the other comments, I would agree to NEVER use this as a mixer. This is a very fine sipping whisky. I look forward to trying some of the other offering from this distillery.
This Stranahan's whiskey is dear to my heart being from Colorado. It is a pure malted bliss that is smooth and sweet. Rich caramel with a palate-soothing leathery finish.
Hands down, all time favorite.
One of the finest Stranahan's whiskey's I have ever had ever found. Over ice only, it would be sacrilegious to mix...add only a touch of water if you can't drink straight up!
Spicier than a bourbon but with a rich sweet taste like a bourbon. Chewier. Good campfire whiskey. :-)
