Overview: Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon, available through Third Base Market & Spirits, is an exceptional bourbon whiskey celebrated for its innovative approach to aging and its balanced flavor profile. This technical description provides an in-depth look at the key characteristics and meticulous production processes that make Noble Oak a unique choice among bourbon enthusiasts.

Ingredients: Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon is crafted from premium ingredients, including:

  1. Grains: A high-quality grain bill, primarily composed of corn, along with rye and malted barley, contributes to the bourbon's sweet and complex flavor profile.

  2. Yeast: Carefully selected yeast strains are used during fermentation to influence the development of unique flavor compounds and the whiskey's overall character.

Distillation: The production of Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon follows a meticulous distillation process:

  1. Milling: Grains are finely milled to create a mash, exposing starches for fermentation.

  2. Mashing: The grist is combined with water and heated to create a mash. Enzymes in the malted barley facilitate the conversion of starches into fermentable sugars.

  3. Fermentation: The mash undergoes fermentation in fermentation tanks, where chosen yeast strains initiate the process. Fermentation typically lasts several days, allowing yeast to convert sugars into alcohol and develop key flavor compounds.

  4. Distillation: The fermented wash undergoes distillation in traditional copper pot stills or column stills, capturing the unique character of the spirit. The resulting new make spirit is carefully collected and assessed for quality.

Aging: Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon is known for its innovative approach to aging. It is a blend of various aged whiskeys, typically ranging from 4 to 12 years. What sets it apart is the unique secondary aging process in which it undergoes an additional aging period in new charred American oak barrels fitted with French oak staves. This double aging imparts a distinctive character to the bourbon.

Tasting Notes: Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon offers a balanced and flavorful tasting experience. Tasting notes may include:

  • Appearance: The bourbon exhibits a deep and inviting amber hue, indicative of its aging and proof.

  • Aroma: The nose is greeted with enticing aromas of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak, complemented by notes of ripe orchard fruits, honey, and a hint of cinnamon.

  • Palate: On the palate, expect a harmonious blend of flavors. Sweet toffee, baked apple, and toasted nuts are interwoven with notes of baking spices, including nutmeg and clove. The mouthfeel is full-bodied and velvety.

  • Finish: The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering notes of oak, dark chocolate, and a subtle sweetness, showcasing the bourbon's depth and well-balanced character.

Packaging: Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon is typically presented in an elegantly designed bottle and packaging, reflecting its premium quality and the brand's commitment to innovation and craftsmanship.

Conclusion: Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon, available through Third Base Market & Spirits, stands as a testament to the creative approach to bourbon aging. Crafted with precision, utilizing a high corn content and a unique double oak aging process, this bourbon offers a balanced and flavorful tasting experience. Known for its innovative approach and the influence of both American and French oak, Noble Oak remains a distinctive choice for bourbon enthusiasts seeking a unique and memorable straight bourbon whiskey expression.

Best kept secret

Noble Oak is a gem few know about. I stumbled across this a couple years ago and have since turned on several friends who now drink it regularly. It’s a double oak which I love and finished in sherry staves giving it a slightly sweet and oaky delicious finish. Soooo easy to drink neat and will hold up a bit on the rocks. The most ridiculous part? It’s only $25 on this site making it one of the best bargains out there. I have 45+ different bourbons/ryes at home and this will always be part of the collection. Cheers!

Easy to enjoy, like a great pop song you never really get tired of

This is not a subtly-nuanced tapestry of flavors, but it's lovely, easy to get into right away, and doesn't wear out its welcome. You can choose your own analog in the pop music world--a song comes on the radio one day, you don't mind it, years go by, and you still feel the same way about it. At this price (like a free song on the radio), the fact that this is without flaw and genuinely fun to drink speaks well of it. It's the usual stroll down caramel & vanilla lane, with a little bit of counterpoint making an appearance here and there as you work to the finish. Easy to enjoy, and to serve to most any company. Cheap enough you don't feel silly mixing it if someone takes theirs that way. I'll be happy to see this on my bar again from time to time.
