Ingredients: Helltown 16 Year Barrel Strength Bourbon is crafted from the finest ingredients, including:
Grains: A grain bill predominantly composed of corn, with rye and malted barley, creates a bourbon known for its rich and matured flavor.
Yeast: Carefully selected yeast strains are used during fermentation to influence the development of unique flavor compounds and the whiskey's overall character.
Water: Quality water, often sourced from the region of production, plays a crucial role in the production, ensuring consistency and enhancing the whiskey's quality.
Distillation: The production of Helltown 16 Year Barrel Strength Bourbon follows a meticulous distillation process:
Milling: Grains are finely milled to create a mash, exposing starches for fermentation.
Mashing: The milled grains are combined with water and heated to create a mash. Enzymes in malted barley facilitate the conversion of starches into fermentable sugars.
Fermentation: The mash is transferred to fermentation tanks, where chosen yeast strains initiate fermentation, typically lasting several days. During this time, yeast converts sugars into alcohol and develops key flavor compounds.
Distillation: The fermented mash undergoes distillation in traditional copper pot stills or column stills, concentrating the alcohol content while separating undesirable elements. The resulting distillate is carefully collected and assessed for quality.
Aging: Helltown 16 Year Barrel Strength Bourbon undergoes an extensive aging process:
Barrel Selection: The distilled spirit is placed in new charred oak barrels, with meticulous barrel selection ensuring each batch achieves exceptional quality. The 16-year aging duration allows for remarkable complexity.
Warehouse Aging: The aging takes place in aging warehouses, where temperature fluctuations and wood interaction impart unique flavors and complexity. Extended aging contributes to the bourbon's depth of character.

This is really nice on its own, the flavor profile is complex. It's a little overpowering for a mixed drink but neat or with an ice sphere it's quite nice.
Bought one of these, and came back for three more. Rich flavor profile, touch sweet, very smooth, and a nice little punch as a sipper. Would recommend!
Very rich flavors with sweet oak and dark spices. The age shines through nicely. There is a definite peanut note in the background similar to an older Dickel. I really enjoy that profile, so to me this is a hitter.
