Lee. This technical description provides insights into the key characteristics and meticulous production that make Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon a beloved choice among bourbon enthusiasts.
Ingredients: Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon is crafted from premium ingredients, including:
- Grains: A meticulously chosen grain bill, primarily featuring corn, along with rye and malted barley, contributes to the bourbon's rich and complex flavor profile.
Distillation: The production process of Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon follows a precise distillation method:
Milling: The grains are finely milled to create grist, exposing starches for fermentation.
Mashing: The grist is combined with water and heated to create a mash. Enzymes in the malted barley facilitate the conversion of starches into fermentable sugars.
Fermentation: The mash is transferred to fermentation tanks, where chosen yeast strains initiate fermentation. This process typically lasts several days, allowing yeast to convert sugars into alcohol and develop key flavor compounds.
Distillation: The fermented wash undergoes double distillation in traditional copper pot stills or column stills, capturing the unique essence of the bourbon. The resulting new make spirit is carefully collected and assessed for quality.
Aging: Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon is typically aged for around 9 years in new, charred oak barrels. The extended aging process allows the bourbon to develop its rich and smooth flavor profile.
Tasting Notes: Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon offers a refined and flavorful tasting experience. Tasting notes may include:
Appearance: The bourbon boasts a deep amber hue, reflecting its aging and proof.
Aroma: The nose is greeted with enticing aromas of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak, complemented by hints of dried fruit, baking spices, and a touch of leather.
Palate: On the palate, anticipate a harmonious blend of flavors. Sweet toffee, ripe orchard fruit, and oak mingle with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a subtle nuttiness. The mouthfeel is smooth and velvety.
Finish: The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of oak, dark chocolate, and a gentle sweetness, showcasing the bourbon's depth and complexity.
Packaging: Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon is typically presented in an elegantly designed bottle and packaging, reflecting its premium quality and the legacy of the master distiller.

This stuff is theBOMB. One of the best bourbons I’ve had. It took 3 delivery attempts as we were out of town that weekend. I just ordered 12 more separate bottles. What a secret 3rd Base is
Arrived on time and wrapped up nice for safety. I am very pleased with both the service from Thirdbase and of course the quality of the product.
Expensive, but good! I did a blind taste at a local bourbon bar and kept picking this one as my favorite. I highly recommend adding Elmers to your bourbon collection.
My bottles arrived on time in perfect condition. What else can I say?
Good stuff. Questionable whether it is worth $230 but tried it given all the positive reviews. This is a really smooth and well balanced bourbon. It would be my daily drinker if it wasn't so expensive on the secondary market. Third Base Market is awesome in how fast they get their shipments out.
