Overview: Angel's Envy Bourbon 109.7 Proof, available exclusively through Third Base Market & Spirits, is a highly regarded and unique expression of Kentucky bourbon whiskey. This technical description provides a detailed insight into the distinctive attributes and meticulous production processes that make Angel's Envy a celebrated choice among bourbon connoisseurs.

Ingredients: Angel's Envy Bourbon 109.7 Proof is crafted from premium ingredients, including:

  1. Grains: A grain mixture primarily composed of corn, complemented by rye and malted barley, creates a bourbon with a rich, full-bodied character and a complex flavor profile.

  2. Yeast: A proprietary yeast strain is used during fermentation, leading to a distinctive flavor profile and aromatic characteristics.

  3. Water: Kentucky's limestone-filtered water is employed throughout the production process, ensuring purity and enhancing the bourbon's quality.

Distillation: The production of Angel's Envy Bourbon 109.7 Proof follows a meticulous distillation process:

  1. Milling: Grains are finely milled to create a mash, exposing starches for fermentation.

  2. Mashing: The milled grains are combined with water and heated to create a mash. Enzymes in malted barley facilitate the conversion of starches into fermentable sugars.

  3. Fermentation: The mash is transferred to fermentation tanks, where chosen yeast strains initiate fermentation, a process typically lasting several days. During this time, yeast converts sugars into alcohol and develops crucial flavor compounds.

  4. Distillation: The fermented mash undergoes distillation in traditional copper pot stills, concentrating the alcohol content while separating unwanted elements. The resulting distillate is carefully collected and evaluated for quality.

Aging: Angel's Envy Bourbon 109.7 Proof undergoes an essential aging process:

  1. Barrel Selection: The distilled spirit is placed in new charred oak barrels, with the selection process ensuring each barrel contributes unique flavors to the bourbon.

  2. Secondary Aging: After initial aging, the bourbon is transferred to hand-selected ruby port wine barrels for additional maturation, imparting distinctive fruity and complex notes.

  3. Aging Duration: Angel's Envy is aged for a minimum of 4-6 years, allowing it to develop a rich, well-balanced flavor profile.

Bottling and Proofing: Following aging and secondary maturation, each batch of Angel's Envy Bourbon 109.7 Proof is carefully sampled and proofed to its final bottling strength, which is typically 54.85% ABV (109.7 proof), ensuring the whiskey's bold and flavorful character remains intact.

Packaging: Angel's Envy Bourbon 109.7 Proof is elegantly presented in a uniquely designed bottle, featuring an angel's wings motif on the back, symbolizing the portion of the spirit lost to evaporation during aging (the "angel's share").

Conclusion: Angel's Envy Bourbon 109.7 Proof, exclusively available through Third Base Market & Spirits, stands as a testament to the art of bourbon-making in Louisville, Kentucky. Crafted with precision, using superior ingredients, and aged to perfection, this bourbon offers a remarkable flavor profile admired by connoisseurs worldwide. It is celebrated for its unique approach to aging in port wine barrels, which adds a distinctive layer of complexity and character. Angel's Envy is a distinguished choice for those seeking a premium bourbon experience with a touch of innovation and elegance.

Some angels should stay in heaven..

I really wanted to like this, but I couldn't help be disappointed. Considering the proof, it was on the thin side. I tasted some nice flavors, but they came and went. In the end, I was expected something deeper and more complex. It was nice, but not nice enough considering the price.
