Sweeter than an Islay but just as complex and lovely

There are other peated whiskies in the world aside from just the ones made on that island but it's a natural comparison. This has the candied bacon and soft campfire on the nose and it carries through on the palate as well. But there's caramel, vanilla, and almond, especially on the attack, that leavens the impact of the peaty smoke. It ends up being a little softer and more polite than the smokiest whiskies I can think of but it is just as satisfying. Definitely worth the price.
