It's mild, soft, and subtly sweet from top to bottom. Now that I actually read the description, I see that it's aimed at newcomers to whiskey. Well, okay--mission accomplished. This is the least-intimidating whiskey I've had in a while. Soft woody notes, bits of nuts and coconut. Mildly toasty, then there's a warming vinous hit from the sherry. Can you really fault this whiskey for being exactly what it set out to be? Not at all! Mission accomplished, total bullseye for the stated goal (pleasant, easygoing whiskey for noobs). You can't get mad at this whiskey even for a second, and you're also safe from the risk of yelling at your buddies across the room to come try a sip. It's fine, just unexciting.
