This is a clean, well-balanced, and nicely dynamic peaty Islay without the cost (or the power) of the expressions we all associate with Laphroaig. It's certainly peaty, but not that depth-charge blast of burning peat bog that come with the bigger payloads in their other bottles. This is more candied bacon and campfire, thanks to some nice spicy, peppery, citric notes leaning in for complexity and balance. It's still a powerful flavor profile without a doubt, but dialed back just enough to let you enjoy complexity alongside the power.
