This isn't the most powerful whiskey in the bar; it's nowhere near being over the top. It shows a mild sweet nose with light to medium grain character and clear vanilla and caramel from the oak. Faint savory and dessert-y spices knock around the mid palate, with just the slightest sting of warmth on the finish. Never stops being interesting, and very easy to drink. This feels like it might be too subdued to pair with a cigar but I am certainly willing to do more research to confirm or disprove that notion.
It’s a great single spot still whiskey at a great price. Spice and oak on the nose, sweet honey and faint barley on the taste and lingering honey spice on the palate. At 40% it’s an easy drinker and a great entry point for those who haven’t tried single pot still Irish whiskey.
This is a lovely Irish pot still. Noses of honey, vanilla, fruit, toasted cereal, almond. It is cream in the mouth and the nosed flavors ring true. My first sip was so lovely I didn't even notice the alcohol's slight heat. I became more aware on the second sip--not because it is "hot," but I was able to get my mind past the initial glory of the dram's balanced flavor.
This is the best Irish whiskey on the market, extremely smooth with a hint of spice. Serve it over a few ice cubes.
Green Spot is a delicious smooth Irish Whiskey. For those you haven't tasted it yet, give it a try. You will not be disappointed!
