Tasting Notes and Technical Description:
The whiskey presents itself in a luminous amber hue, tinged with deep golden accents, evoking a sense of maturity and sophistication.
Upon nosing, you are greeted by a complex bouquet filled with bold aromas of caramelized sugar, toasted oak, and undertones of spiced vanilla. A subtle layer of dried fruits like apricot and apple adds an aromatic complexity.
As the whiskey dances over the palate, an explosion of flavors manifests. Expect to encounter notes of cinnamon and cloves at the onset, perfectly balanced by the sweeter, creamier flavors of butterscotch and vanilla. The rye grain adds a peppery spice that is both invigorating and harmonious, marking its ten-year maturation.
The finish is long, warming, and full-bodied, characterized by a resurgence of spiced oak and an echo of mint, eventually giving way to a lingering note of leather and tobacco.
The whiskey's texture offers an enticing interplay between its oily richness and the sharp, zesty bite from its rye base, making each sip both complex and memorable.

Whistle Pig continues to be a leader in Rye expressions and their 10 yr is among their best releases. Tasty Smooth with some boldness from first to last drop, Aromatic and fairly priced. Third Base Market and Spirits delivered my orders fairly priced securely packaged and insured in about a week to me in N C from California. Suggestion: if possible buy at a minimum two bottles of spirits in any combination you enjoy to reduce the shipping charge price per bottle example: 1 bottle shipped for approx. $22 total but 2 bottles shipped for approx.$28 total and take the insurance < $5 which is a small price to pay for peace of mind. As a side bar: Whistle Pig has also fairly recently released their Piggy Back 6 year Bourbon expression which in my opinion is worthy in all respects for Price, smooth bold taste, aroma. I'm sure TBM&S will inventory it soon. Their Out of Stock replenish notification to you on your favorite expression is ACES Customer Service. Do not hesitate to do business with TBM&S.
I love this stuff. Some people complain because it comes from Alberta but Alberta Distillers knows how to make some good high rye rye. The age and proof is perfect to sip neat. Sometimes I'll add one drop of bitters and a quality cherry. I call that a cherry bomb just to give it a name, I've never seen that in a cocktail book.
