This is a very mild-mannered bourbon, but beautifully made. It was quite the center of debate at a cigars and whiskey party at my place this weekend; the guy who brought it loves it for its simple elegance and comforting familiarity. He likes the movie line "bourbon tastes like a warm summer day," and puts this bottle top of mind when he hears that line. Another guy calls this "the pilsner of bourbon"--simple and clean, refreshing when you're in the mood for it, but you're often in the mood for something more complex. Everybody tried it as a sipper. For me, I loved it, and appreciate getting to keep the last few pours on my bar. It's got the vanilla, shortbread, and almonds, with a light touch of caramel and apricot. It's so easy to enjoy, with or without thinking about it.
