Soft, fruity, delicious, and gently warming

This is a wonderful whiskey even at the moderate price--quite a value, showing qualities found more often in still-costlier bottles. It has a beautiful variety of ripe and dried fruits on the nose, with caramel, fruits, and soft spices on the palate. No heat in the mouth or throat, but warms you like a soft depth charge. Beautifully conceived and executed, worth many repeats.

Redbreast 12

This one is truly a lovely whiskey. The sherry influence is more pronounced than the Green Spot, or the Powers Signature. The flavors are rich and balanced overall, displaying red fruit, honey, clove, toasted cereal. While there is a noted creaminess in the mouth, to me it is less than the Green Spot. This also has slightly more heat and has a slight astringency on the finish---not uncommon in sherry finishes.
