When the temps go low .. I look for a good petey, smokie sipper to spend evenings by the fireplace with and, this is the simply t h e best.
A very nice Isley Scotch . The sixteen year is my favorite. I have over the years enjoyed it and highly recommend a finger’s to sip to relax .
Still the most visceral response I've ever had to any spirit--the big campfire and bacon nose grabbed me right away and instantly convinced me 20+ years ago that I not only loved scotch, but had found one I could instantly cite if anyone asked whether I had a particular favorite. It's probably still my all-time favorite whisky. The smoke hits from arm's length, if not from across the room. The alcohol is quite subdued in comparison to other smoke-bomb whiskies, though it warms you within seconds after a sip. I wish I could always have this on my bar, but I'm too tempted to drink it all the time, and the price is just beyond reach for an everyday drinker.
The order was delivered on time with great packaging
Lagavulin is a great scotch, possibly the best and my favorite. It use to be reasonably priced and now it has gotten ridiculous with prices up to $90 a bottle . Why the gross increase in price. It has become the favorite of millennials. How do I know that ? My cousin works for Diageo in Norwalk , CT. and she has confirmed that it became a demand issue within that demographic where it is extremely popular and so the price soared . You can get Lagavulin here for $68 and even with the shipping it becomes a real bargain in the low $70s. I bought 4 bottles to stock up on which brings down the overall cost per bottle when you figure in the shipping costs. I may go for 6 bottles next time.
