Light one in flavor, aroma, and color. Bit of honey and cream notes on top, mild light body, there's the cream again on the palate, bit of vanilla as well. Seems like a good solid base for a more-interesting whiskey somewhere down the line.
The Islay region produces my favorite scotches and Bowmore has the perfect amount of smoke for my taste. It does not overwhelm the toffee or sherry background as so many others. Regardless of price, I prefer the 15 over the 18. Just a great bottle for the price or any price.
I had wanted to tase this for some time, and am so glad 3rd Base carries it- what a golden dram. Very refined- just a suggestion of smoke on the finish. I tried my best to savor it and took my own sweet time with it… as opposed to the lightning quick service from 3rd Base, which is always a step above top notch.
They have a lot of hard to find bottles. Always tough finding good companies to order from online. I will be ordering from them again shipped fast great packaging.
A couple of times a year my wife and I splurge on a high-end scotch. We've tried everything we can afford in the Dalmore line, including their 18 year, and we think the 15 year is far and away the best. It's mellow and buttery; just an exquisite experience. For the money, you can't beat the Dalmore 15.
