This is a lovely whiskey with enough heft on the nose and palate to earn the descriptor "intense." Not because it's the absolute most-intense whiskey on the planet, just because it's well on the strong side. Big toasty nose, with tea leaves and a bit of mahogany showing. Earthy mid-palate with tobacco and cedar. It's got the same crackling attack of a very peaty, smoky whiskey, though with somewhat less depth to the flavor. You don't feel like your tongue is being inoculated with these flavors, just coated with them. Nice lingering finish.
